Bï¿½nsï¿½gi Andor: A hï¿½borï¿½ alatt a cs. ï¿½s kir. hadihajï¿½k ï¿½sszesen 25 alkalommal futottak ki azzal a cï¿½llal, hogy az Otrantï¿½i-szorosban ellensï¿½ges hajï¿½egysï¿½gekre vadï¿½sszanak. Nem minden esetben a tengerzï¿½r hajï¿½inak a megtï¿½madï¿½sa volt a cï¿½l. Gyakran csak felderï¿½tï¿½sre vagy a Brindisi ï¿½s Valona kï¿½zti hajï¿½forgalom zavarï¿½sï¿½ra, tï¿½madï¿½sï¿½ra indultak. Az esetek tï¿½bbsï¿½gï¿½ben, - a rossz idï¿½jï¿½rï¿½s, vagy az ellensï¿½g hiï¿½nya miatt - nem kerï¿½lt sor ï¿½sszecsapï¿½sra, de az egyszerï¿½sï¿½g kedvï¿½ï¿½rt, cï¿½lszerï¿½ lenne meghonosï¿½tani a szakirodalomban, - az Isonzï¿½-csatï¿½k elnevezï¿½sï¿½nek mintï¿½jï¿½ra - az elsï¿½, mï¿½sodik, harmadik ï¿½s negyedik otrantï¿½i ï¿½tkï¿½zet megnevezï¿½st. Kï¿½vï¿½natos lenne ez a gyakorlat azï¿½rt is, mert ha az 1917. mï¿½jus 15-ei nagy ï¿½sszecsapï¿½srï¿½l, mint harmadik otrantï¿½i ï¿½tkï¿½zetrï¿½l beszï¿½lnï¿½nk, egyï¿½ttal burkoltan felhï¿½vnï¿½nk a figyelmet arra, hogy nem ez volt az egyetlen ï¿½sszecsapï¿½s a tï¿½rsï¿½gben. E terminolï¿½gia szerint a kï¿½vetkezï¿½ idï¿½pontokban ï¿½s rï¿½sztvevï¿½kkel zajlottak az otrantï¿½i-ï¿½tkï¿½zetek:
Ezen rï¿½vid bevezetï¿½ egyik cï¿½lja, - amellett, hogy a forrï¿½sok magyarï¿½zï¿½ tanulmï¿½nyakï¿½nt szolgï¿½ljon - hogy meghonosï¿½tsa ezt az ï¿½j elnevezï¿½st. 1917. februï¿½r 1-jï¿½n a Nï¿½met Csï¿½szï¿½rsï¿½g ï¿½s az Osztrï¿½k-Magyar Monarchia deklarï¿½lta a korlï¿½tlan tengeralattjï¿½rï¿½ hï¿½borï¿½t. Ettï¿½l kezdve az antant szï¿½mï¿½ra fontos kï¿½rdï¿½ssï¿½ vï¿½lt, hogy megakadï¿½lyozza az ellensï¿½ges tengeralattjï¿½rï¿½k ï¿½thaladï¿½sï¿½t az Otrantï¿½i-szoroson, de az otrantï¿½i tengerzï¿½r megerï¿½sï¿½tï¿½se tovï¿½bbra is vontatottan haladt. A zï¿½rat alkotï¿½ drifterek vï¿½delme elï¿½gtelen volt, a kis halï¿½szgï¿½zï¿½sï¿½k 57 ï¿½s 47 mm-es ï¿½gyï¿½i pedig nem jelentettek komoly fenyegetï¿½st egy hadihajï¿½ szï¿½mï¿½ra. A drifterek vï¿½delmï¿½t a Brindisiben ï¿½s Valonï¿½ban ï¿½llomï¿½sozï¿½ kï¿½nnyï¿½ egysï¿½gek lï¿½ttï¿½k el, de kï¿½zï¿½lï¿½k nem mindegyik volt ï¿½llandï¿½an kifutï¿½sra kï¿½sz ï¿½llapotban. Ez a rendszer sebezhetï¿½vï¿½ tette a zï¿½rat, hiszen a fedezetï¿½l szolgï¿½lï¿½ hajï¿½k csak akkor futottak ki, ha a driftereket tï¿½madï¿½s ï¿½rte, ï¿½gy az erï¿½sï¿½tï¿½s megï¿½rkezï¿½sï¿½ig a tï¿½madï¿½k szabadon pusztï¿½thattï¿½k a vï¿½dekezï¿½sre szinte teljesen kï¿½ptelen halï¿½szgï¿½zï¿½sï¿½ket. Kï¿½sï¿½bb a zï¿½r rombolï¿½kbï¿½l ï¿½llï¿½ ï¿½rjï¿½ratot kapott, mely hatï¿½sosabbnak bizonyult, hiszen bï¿½rmilyen tï¿½madï¿½ erï¿½nek elï¿½szï¿½r rajtuk kellett ï¿½tverekednie magï¿½t, illetve fokozatosan nï¿½veltï¿½k a tengerzï¿½r mï¿½retï¿½t a hï¿½borï¿½ vï¿½gï¿½ig, valamint a rendelkezï¿½sre ï¿½llï¿½ vï¿½delmi egysï¿½gek szï¿½mï¿½t, a tervezett mï¿½rtï¿½kben azonban sohasem ï¿½pï¿½lt ki. Vï¿½gï¿½l is a szï¿½vetsï¿½gesek szï¿½mï¿½ra a sikert nem a tengerzï¿½r megerï¿½sï¿½tï¿½se, hanem a konvoj rendszer bevezetï¿½sre hozta meg, amelyrï¿½l a britek 1917. ï¿½prilisï¿½ban ï¿½nï¿½llï¿½an hatï¿½roztak, ï¿½s amelyet nï¿½hï¿½ny gyakorlï¿½ ï¿½t utï¿½n az egï¿½sz Mediterrï¿½neumban fokozatosan bevezettek. A Kï¿½zponti Hatalmak cï¿½lja termï¿½szetesen az volt, hogy tengeralattjï¿½rï¿½ik nagyobb nehï¿½zsï¿½gek nï¿½lkï¿½l kijuthassanak a Fï¿½ldkï¿½zi-tengerre, ï¿½s ott tï¿½madhassï¿½k az antant utï¿½npï¿½tlï¿½si vonalait. A tengerzï¿½r felszï¿½molï¿½sa vagy meggyengï¿½tï¿½se a felszï¿½ni hadihajï¿½kra vï¿½rt. Az 1917. mï¿½jus 15-ei nagy tï¿½madï¿½s okait nem csak a tengerzï¿½r puszta lï¿½te motivï¿½lta, hanem a tenni akarï¿½s is, ugyanis a szoroson valï¿½ ï¿½thaladï¿½s nem mindig okozott nagyobb nehï¿½zsï¿½get a tengeralattjï¿½rï¿½knak. Mï¿½g 1918 elsï¿½ felï¿½ben is, amikor a tengerzï¿½r kiï¿½pï¿½tettsï¿½gï¿½nek foka sokkal magasabb volt, havi 30-40 alkalommal ï¿½szleltek vagy tï¿½madtak sikertelenï¿½l tengeralattjï¿½rï¿½kat az antant egysï¿½gek. Ezzel szemben, a hï¿½borï¿½ alatt, a zï¿½ron mindï¿½ssze kï¿½t nï¿½met ï¿½s egy osztrï¿½k-magyar tengeralattjï¿½rï¿½ sï¿½llyedt el. A tï¿½madï¿½s rï¿½szleteit Horthy Miklï¿½s sorhajï¿½kapitï¿½ny dolgozta ki, aki rendszeresen konzultï¿½lt a nï¿½met ï¿½s osztrï¿½k-magyar tengeralattjï¿½rï¿½k parancsnokaival. Ezek a beszï¿½lgetï¿½sek csak megerï¿½sï¿½tettï¿½k benne azt az elhatï¿½rozï¿½st, hogy a zï¿½rat meg kell semmisï¿½teni. ï¿½gy ï¿½rt errï¿½l visszaemlï¿½kezï¿½seiben: "Valamennyi bï¿½vï¿½rhajï¿½-parancsnokkal, aki csak befutott az ï¿½bï¿½lbe, kimerï¿½tï¿½en megbeszï¿½ltem mindig a helyzetet. Egyhangï¿½an azt vï¿½ltï¿½k, hogy a zï¿½r ï¿½ttï¿½rï¿½se egyre nehezebbï¿½ vï¿½lik, sï¿½t, mï¿½r szinte lehetetlen." [4] A vï¿½llalkozï¿½s vï¿½grehajtï¿½sï¿½ra a hï¿½rom legmodernebb kï¿½nnyï¿½cirkï¿½lï¿½t, a NOVARA-t, a HELGOLAND-ot, ï¿½s a SAIDA-t vï¿½lasztottï¿½k ki, valamint a BALATON ï¿½s CSEPEL rombolï¿½k parancsot kaptak, hogy Valona ï¿½s Brindisi kï¿½zt ellensï¿½ges hajï¿½egysï¿½gek tï¿½madï¿½sï¿½val elterelï¿½ hadmï¿½veletet hajtsanak vï¿½gre. Eredetileg a Tï¿½TRA rombolï¿½ is rï¿½szt vett volna a tï¿½madï¿½sï¿½ban, de turbina problï¿½mï¿½k miatt mï¿½s feladatra osztottï¿½k be. Mivel a tï¿½madï¿½s rï¿½szletes ismertetï¿½se szï¿½tfeszï¿½tenï¿½ eme rï¿½vid bevezetï¿½ kereteit, ezï¿½rt csak nï¿½hï¿½ny megjegyzï¿½st kï¿½vï¿½nok tenni. A BALATON ï¿½s CSEPEL rombolï¿½k ï¿½ltal megtï¿½madott olasz konvoj a BOREA nevï¿½ rombolï¿½bï¿½l ï¿½s hï¿½rom tehergï¿½zï¿½sbï¿½l, nï¿½v szerint: CARROCCIO, BERSAGLIERE, ï¿½s VERITA, ï¿½llt. Osztrï¿½k ï¿½s magyar feldolgozï¿½sok szerint a rï¿½vid ï¿½sszecsapï¿½s eredmï¿½nyekï¿½pp a rombolï¿½ ï¿½s kï¿½t tehergï¿½zï¿½s sï¿½llyedt el. Ez az ï¿½llï¿½tï¿½s azonban nem ï¿½llja meg a helyï¿½t. A CARROCCIO, mely 15 tonna lï¿½szert ï¿½s 15 torpedï¿½t szï¿½llï¿½tott, valamint a BOREA rombolï¿½ valï¿½ban elsï¿½llyedt, azonban a VERITA gï¿½zï¿½st, mely sï¿½lyos sï¿½rï¿½lï¿½seket szenvedett ï¿½s nagy rï¿½sze kiï¿½gett, az olaszoknak sikerï¿½lt Valonï¿½ba vontatniuk. A BERSAGLIERE csak kï¿½nnyebb sï¿½rï¿½lï¿½seket szenvedett ï¿½s kï¿½pes volt ï¿½nerï¿½bï¿½l befutni a kikï¿½tï¿½be. A nï¿½gy hajï¿½n 184 fï¿½ tartï¿½zkodott, a tï¿½lï¿½lï¿½k 162-en voltak. A BOREA legï¿½nysï¿½gï¿½bï¿½l 2 fï¿½ elesett, 9 eltï¿½nt, 48 pedig megsebesï¿½lt. A brit hivatalos jelentï¿½sek rendszeresen alaptalan optimizmusrï¿½l tesznek tanï¿½bizonysï¿½got, ha a sajï¿½t hadihajï¿½ik vagy az otrantï¿½i tengerzï¿½r hatï¿½sossï¿½gï¿½rï¿½l van szï¿½. Az alï¿½bbi forrï¿½sokban emlï¿½tett osztrï¿½k-magyar vagy nï¿½met vesztesï¿½gek nem kï¿½vetkeztek be. Sem a tengerzï¿½ron megtï¿½madott, sem a DARTMOUTH-ot megtorpedï¿½zott tengeralattjï¿½rï¿½t nem sikerï¿½lt elsï¿½llyeszteni, valamint a NOVARA cirkï¿½lï¿½ is, sï¿½lyos sï¿½rï¿½lï¿½sekkel ugyan, de megmenekï¿½lt. Az ï¿½tkï¿½zetjelentï¿½s megtalï¿½lhatï¿½ a DARTMOUTH ï¿½s a BRISTOL jelentï¿½sï¿½ben, de ez alatt az idï¿½ alatt balesetek tï¿½rtï¿½ntek a rombolï¿½k kï¿½zt. A kï¿½t ellensï¿½ges rombolï¿½t tï¿½madï¿½ AQUILA mozgï¿½skï¿½ptelennï¿½ vï¿½lt egy talï¿½lattï¿½l, mely elvï¿½gott egy gï¿½zvezetï¿½ket ï¿½s az egyik kazï¿½nban robbant, azt hiszem. Hï¿½t ember meghalt ï¿½s az AQUILA teljesen magatehetetlennï¿½ vï¿½lt, ï¿½s csak a fedezetkï¿½nt felï¿½je fordulï¿½ cirkï¿½lï¿½ink akadï¿½lyoztï¿½k meg az elvesztï¿½sï¿½t. A hï¿½tsï¿½ olajtartï¿½lyai is tï¿½zet fogtak, ï¿½s vï¿½gï¿½l a SCHIAFFINO vontatta be Brindisibe. A MIRABELLO-nak vï¿½z kerï¿½lt az olajï¿½ba, vagy olaj a vizï¿½be, nem tudom biztosan melyik, ami 20 csomï¿½ra csï¿½kkentette sebessï¿½gï¿½t, ï¿½s visszament Brindisibe, a RIVIï¿½RE-t vontatva, mely kondenzï¿½tor problï¿½mï¿½k miatt lett mozgï¿½skï¿½ptelen. 8.
